The story of Malin Kundang

A long time ago, there's old widow with her son, named Malin Kundang. They lived in a hut in the vilage near the sea. They were very poor.
His mother was sad to hear it. But she knew that Malin Kundang was right. So she let him go.
After her son had left, Malin Kundang's mother went to the beach every day. She hoped her son would return soon. At night she would pray for her son's safety. She would ask the captain of the ship whether he saw her son or not. But she got no news about Malin Kundang.
After years, when she was very old, a captain of a ship told her, "Malin Kundang? I met him some month ago. He is now married to a beautiful girl. She is the daughter of a wealthy man."

Malin Kundang's mother was very happy to hear it.
"Thank you, God!" she prayed. She was sure that Malin Kundang would return home one day.
One morning, a big beautiful ship docked. A young couple stood at the dock. They wore beautiful clothes.

Malin Kundang's mother cried joyfully. "Malin Kundang! My son! You are home!" she hugged the young man.

Malin Kundang did not believe her. He thought, "This can't be my mother! She was a strong woman when I left."

But his wife said angrily, "Why didn't you tell me that your mother is poor and old?" Then she spitted on the old woman.

The old woman cried. She could not believe what she heard.

"Malin, I am your mother."

But Malin Kundang did not listen. He was embarrassed to have an old mother. So he kicked the old woman yelled at her, "Go away, ugly woman. My mother does not look like you at all."

The woman fell on the ground. She cried. Then she prayed, "My dear God, if he really is my son, punish him."

Suddenly, there was a thunderstorm. Big waves hit the shore with a loud noise. They hit everything from big ships to coconut trees along the shore. The thunderstorm was a fierce one.

The storm stopped in the morning. But the villagers could see what the storm had done. Not far from the shore, there were rocks that looked like wreckage and the passenger of a ship. People believed that it was Malin Kundang's ship, and Malin Kundang changed into a coral reef. God had punished him.

Moral message :

As a child, never forget all parents services especially a mother who already raise you, Don't become a rebel. Insubordinate to the parents is a big sin that will be borne by your self.

The Story of Sangkuriang and Tangkuban perahu maoutain

Once, there was a kingdom in Priangan Land. Lived a happy family. They were a father in form of dog,his name is Tumang, a mother which was called is Dayang Sumbi, and a child which was called Sangkuriang.

One day, Dayang Sumbi asked her son to go hunting with his lovely dog, Tumang. After hunting all day, Sangkuriang began desperate and worried because he hunted no deer. Then he thought to shot his own dog. Then he took the dog liver and carried home.

Soon Dayang Sumbi found out that it was not deer lever but Tumang's, his own dog. So, She was very angry and hit Sangkuriang's head. In that incident, Sangkuriang got wounded and scar then cast away from their home.

Years go bye, Sangkuriang had travel many places and finally arrived at a village. He met a beautiful woman and felt in love with her. When they were discussing their wedding plans, The woman looked at the wound in Sangkuriang's head. It matched to her son's wound who had left severall years earlier. Soon she realized that she felt in love with her own son.

She couldn't marry him but how to say it. Then, she found the way. She needed a lake and a boat for celebrating their wedding day. Sangkuriang had to make them in one night. He built a lake. With a dawn just moment away and the boat was almost complete. Dayang Sumbi had to stop it. Then, she lit up the eastern horizon with flashes of light. It made the cock crowed for a new day.

Sangkuriang failed to marry her. She was very angry and kicked the boat. It felt over and became the mountain ofTangkuban Perahu Bandung.

Japan earthquake: Tsunami hits north-east

Japan's most powerful earthquake since records began has struck the north-east coast, triggering a massive tsunami.

Cars, ships and buildings were swept away by a wall of water after the 8.9-magnitude tremor, which struck about 400km (250 miles) north-east of Tokyo.
A state of emergency has been declared at a nuclear power plant, where pressure has exceeded normal levels.
Officials say 350 people are dead and about 500 missing, but it is feared the final death toll will be much higher.
In one ward alone in Sendai, a port city in Miyagi prefecture, 200 to 300 bodies were found.
The quake was the fifth-largest in the world since 1900 and nearly 8,000 times stronger than the one which devastated Christchurch, New Zealand, last month, said scientists.
Thousands of people living near the Fukushima nuclear power plant have been ordered to evacuate.

Japanese nuclear officials said pressure inside a boiling water reactor at the plant was running much higher than normal after the cooling system failed.

Officials said they might need to deliberately release some radioactive steam to relieve pressure, but that there would be no health risk.
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had earlier said the US Air Force had flown emergency coolant to the site.
But US officials later said no coolant had been handed over because the Japanese had decided to handle the situation themselves.
The UN's nuclear agency said four nuclear power plants had shut down safely.
Measured at 8.9 by the US Geological Survey, it struck at 1446 local time (0546 GMT) at a depth of about 24km.
The tsunami rolled across the Pacific at 800km/h (500mph) - as fast as a jetliner - before hitting Hawaii and the US West Coast, but there were no reports of major damage from those regions.

Thousands of people were ordered to evacuate coastal areas in the states of California, Oregon and Washington.

The biggest waves of more than 6-7ft (about 2m) were recorded near California's Crescent City, said the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre.
A tsunami warning extended across the Pacific to North and South America, where many other coastal regions were evacuated, but the alert was later lifted in most parts, including the Philippines, Australia and China.
Strong waves hit Japan's Miyagi and Fukushima prefectures, damaging dozens of coastal communities.
A 10m wave struck Sendai, deluging farmland and sweeping cars across the airport's runway. Fires broke out in the centre of the city.

Samsung Galaxy S3

With the latest version of Android, a whopping 4.8-inch Super AMOLED HD screen and a whole suite of Apple-beating features, is the new Samsung Galaxy SIII the greatest phone ever?
Samsung has made a big deal about this new phone, not only choosing to launch it at a big and glitzy standalone event in London but also claiming nearly 10 million pre-orders before it's even launched.
The price is pretty palatable for a top-end phone – the likes of Three are already offering it for just £34 a month with oodles of minutes and data, which is already much, much cheaper than any iPhone would ever launch for.
But let's get down to the main question – is this the phone you should be spending your hard-earned cash on before it's even launched?
The Samsung Galaxy S3 is, according to Samsung anyway, 'inspired by nature – it sees, listens, responds, and allows you to share the greatest moments'.
While this is all a little hyperbolic, the nature theme is certainly present when you handle the phone for the first time.
Brushed polycarbonate – you've got a choice of 'Marble White' and 'Pebble Blue' – adorns the large device, which runs in with dimensions of 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6mm, despite still having to pack in a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED HD screen.
We'll lay it out right now: the plastic feeling of the Galaxy S3 won't appeal to all. It feels very lightweight (despite tipping the scales at 133g) in the hand, and some people will read this as feeling a little cheap.
However, it's exactly the same sensation as we found on the Galaxy S2, and given the silly numbers of sales that had, we think there's more than a market for a phone that you'll barely notice in your pocket most of the time.
But we'll be very clear on this - the Galaxy S3 is not a cheap-feeling phone. It's got a really solid Gorilla Glass front, a well-packaged interior and a more robust battery cover. It's polycarbonate rather than bog-standard plastic, although we're not sure some people will like the more rounded nature of the design (although it's purely subjective).
